Pep Guardiola Says Leroy Sane Not Guaranteed to Stay in Manchester City
By db-admin
DBasia.news – Pep Guardiola cannot ensure that Leroy Sane will stay with Manchester City when the January transfer window closes. Leroy Sane who is targeted by Bayern Munich has just recovered from a knee injury and has been absent since last August.
The German international winger has not played since suffering an ACL injury in a Community Shield match against Liverpool in August.
The 23-year-old player revealed that he had returned to training on the pitch, although the club had yet to set a date for his readiness to defend the first team.
“When will he (Sane) come back? I don’t know, “Pep said at a press conference session ahead of City’s visit to Oxford United headquarters in the League Cup, Thursday (12/19) AM. “This process is to ensure that the conditions are perfect, not to experience setbacks.
“I think he’s physically strong, muscular, and he’s recovering well. The next step is to train on the field and then with the team, and (we) are always happy when he returns. “
But Pep did not dare to guarantee that his player would remain part of his team at the end of next month, considering that Bayern Munich through president Uli Hoeness has ambitions to pursue Sane’s signature.
Regarding the possibility of Sane moving in January, Pep added: “I don’t know about that. Everything can happen.”
Sane himself has been offered a new contract by City, but until now it has not been signed.
At City, the former Schalke 04 player is
under contract until June 2021.
