DBasia.news –  Having swallowed a defeat against Wolverhampton Wanderers, Manchester City has now turned to win when against Southampton in the continuing Premier League match. Pep Guardiola is pleased with the response of his team.

After the match, Guardiola admitted he was not surprised to see the behavior of his players on the field. Raheem Sterling’s consistency and determination throughout the game were ultimately able to undermine the strong defense of The Saints which from the beginning of the fight was challenging to penetrate.

City left in the first round through James Ward-Prowse in the 13th minute. After the break, Guardiola gave a number of suggestions to his players in the locker room. His advice was well practiced by the players. After entering the second half, two subsequent goals were successfully created.

“We played very well from the first minute. There were many opportunities that were not maximized from the start. However, we managed to dim many of the pressures. “We managed to keep a calm mentally and played patiently,” he said after the match, as quoted by the BBC.

“We know that if we are calm, the opportunity will come naturally. At the break of the first half, I told the players to keep attacking because that was the only way. I’m glad we managed to close the match well, “he continued.

This victory has brought City to still overshadow Liverpool who still control the top of the standings. Both teams are currently six points adrift. The Cityzens have lost twice this season, while the Reds have not.
