DBasia.news –  The 2018 Copa Libertadores final round is the most awaited match in South America, but not conducted until now. The match was postponed due to the heating situation. Seeing this situation, Genoa offer a solution.

Essentially, the second leg of 2018 Copa Libertadores final would be conducted on Sunday (25/11). But, the match was postponed due to the incident before the match.

Argentina was in a high tension ahead of the final match of 2018 Copa Libertadores. No wonder, the two rivals, River Plate and Boca Juniors, will see each other.

Consequently, there was a riot before the match that supposed to be conducted at El Monumental Stadium, River Plate home.

Boca Juniors’ bus got thrown by rocks, bottles, and smoke bombs.

Some Boca Juniors players became the victim. Moreover, some of them were rushed to the hospital due to the injury.

Until now, there is no further notice for the 2018 Copa Libertadores final round. But the solution comes from Europe, Genoa.

“Our city, which historically, culturally and through sport, is close to Buenos Aires, feels a deep-rooted link to your two prestigious clubs founded by our countrymen,” said the statement from Genoa Mayor.

“Today twinned to our two clubs Genoa and Sampdoria. The painful recent events which have hit us, have reawakened a profound sense of community and of rediscovering our roots.”

“As Sports Chief Executive of the Municipality of Genoa, I am communicating to you that our city would be honored and makes itself available to host this important and prestigious Cup final and Argentine capital derby,” the statement continued

Bona Juniors are called Xeneizes because they were established by the immigrants from Genoa. Meanwhile, River Plate came from the merger of Santa Rosa club initiated by the Genoa immigrants.
