DBasia.news – For the very first time, Sergio Ramos performed in England after the incident in the final round of 2018 Champions League between his team, Real Madrid, against Liverpool. He, along with the Spain national team, defeated England with a 2-1 score at Wembley Stadium.

As known, during the final round of Champions League in Kiev, Ukraine, Ramos made Liverpool player Mohamed Salah injured. Consequently, Salah had to absent the opening match of Egypt during the 2018 World Cup.

Just as expected before, Ramos got a negative greeting from the supporters at Wembley. Every time he touched the ball, the England supporters booed him. After the match, Ramos emphasized that he didn’t get bothered by the negative greetings.

In that chance, Ramos also explained about the incident with Salah in the final round of Champions League. After the match, his family got a death threat. “One tries to evade the boos. In the end you feel it, but I stay out of everything. It doesn’t affect my game,” Ramos said.

“I would have liked another reception because people only remember the action of the final, and nobody remembers the death threats that my family and my children received.”

“It is a very sensitive issue that people maybe take as a joke about and that’s why they whistle in a great stadium like this. My conscience is very clear. I do not have to give more explanations,” Ramos added.

The former England national team and Manchester United player Garry Neville also spoke up about the whistle for Ramos. He assumed a player like Ramos will be more challenged by the negative response from the supporters.

“He’s the best. Personality, character. You talk about a lack of leaders… huge presence on a football pitch, Sergio Ramos. The more he gets booed, the more I think he’s likely to stay on the ball. I think he enjoys it,” Neville revealed.
