RB Leipzig Won’t Release Dayot Upamecano Despite Being Offered with High Prices
By db-admin
DBasia.news – Dayot Upamecano, RB Leipzig defender, is one of the players who attracted the attention of European wealthy clubs to bring him to the transfer market next summer. But RB Leipzig will not release the 21-year-old defender even though being offered with fantastic numbers.
Big clubs like Manchester United, Arsenal, and Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly ready to pour large funds to get Dayot Upamecano. However, their efforts will get obstacles from RB Leipzig.
Oliver Mintzlaff, chairman of Leipzig, insisted the player would not be going anywhere next season. He has absolutely no plan to release Upamecano, even if interested clubs dare to pay the clause.
“You can assume that we will have a discussion that will be very satisfying. We have an extraordinary squad and can easily start a new season with this squad,” Oliver Mintzlaff said as quoted by Sportbuzzer on Wednesday (22/04).
“Obviously we will not sell any player at any value, even if he wants to leave. Including Dayot, who we believe really appreciates the contract here,” the chairman added.
Dayot Upamecano actually has a great chance to leave this summer. Because the his contract with RB Leipzig will end in 2021.
The release clause was not too expensive. Quoted from Transfermarkt, the price of the French player is 45 million euros. Of course the price is not a significant problem for clubs like Manchester United, Arsenal, and Paris Saint-Germain.
