Recovered From Injury, Manchester City is Ready to Play John Stones
By db-admin
DBasia.news – Manchester City manager, Pep Guardiola insists that John Stones has recovered from the injury he suffered and is ready to play in the match against Newcastle United.
If appearing in the match, the Stones will record the first match since January this year. Nevertheless, there is no certainty regarding his future with the Citizens.
Pep confirmed he would lose the English defender when entertaining Newcastle at the Ettihad Stadium. However, he refused to give a deeper answer regarding the Stones’ future.
“In the transfer market, we will talk at the end of the season. I repeatedly said that I like John (Stones) as a person, professional, everything,” concluded Guardiola as reported by Goal International.
“I hope the best for him, we will explain at the end of the season about what will happen,” he stated.
Guardiola said, sometimes his desire is not the will of the player, or even the club. According to Guardiola, if he wants a change, he will say it.
“He is a young player who I want to be consistent, train and recover,” he added.
Despite not having a serious injury, Stones lacks regular playing hours from Guardiola. Of the 51 matches this season, Stones have only played 14 times. Man City is reportedly eyeing a new defender to be recruited next season.
“John is still qualified, I never doubted that for a second. It’s a matter of when we don’t play, we will be replaced and eventually injured and injured again,” he concluded.
