Revealed, MU is also targeting other players in Dortmund besides Jadon Sancho

DBasia.news – Many have thought that Manchester United was experiencing panic in the final period of the 2020 summer transfer market. Recently, United’s strange move has become evidence of the Red Devils’ panic.

According to David Ornstein of The Athletic, Manchester United surprised Borussia Dortmund by suddenly making an offer to sign full-back, Nico Schulz. The offer came after United failed to obtain Jadon Sancho. United officials reportedly frantically called Dortmund after learning that the deal was not approved.

“I can understand why United did that, because in the past, we saw that Dortmund said the same thing in public only to end up selling at the end of the window like Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Ousmane Dembele,” said Ornstein.

United in the end closed the summer transfer window by bringing in five players. But they failed to bring in Jadon Sancho’s main target after failing to persuade Borussia Dortmund to lower prices.

After the chances of obtaining Sancho ran low, Manchester United changed targets by chasing Ousmane Dembele from Barcelona. But even that step failed.

According to ESPN, it was revealed that United has made a final attempt to contact Dortmund, but not for Sancho but to sign Sancho’s team-mate, Schulz.

27-year-old Schulz joined Dortmund last summer from Hoffenheim, but failed to show his best at Signal Iduna Park. United offered a loan scheme by paying the player’s salary in full.

The offer has reportedly made Dortmund surprised. In the end, Dortmund flatly refused the offer. They questioned United’s strange transfer policy and recruitment department.

The two clubs have discussed all summer for Jadon Sancho. However, in the days leading up to the closure, United actually made offers for other players.
