Ronaldo Always Ready if Portugal National Team Needs Him
By db-admin
DBasia.news – Cristiano Ronaldo scored two of the winning goals in Portugal’s match against Sweden. This proves that Ronaldo is always there when A Selecao needs him.
Ronaldo had missed the first match of the UEFA Nations League League A Group 1 when Portugal shaved Croatia 4-1. At that time Ronaldo was absent because of a toe injury.
However, Ronaldo no longer wants to waste the opportunity to appear in the second match against Sweden at the Friends Arena, Wednesday (9/9/2020) in the morning WIB. Ronaldo wants to immediately record his 100th goal for his national team.
The goal that Ronaldo had been waiting for finally arrived in the 44th minute when his free kick slid into Robin Olsen’s goal. Assisted by an opponent who played with 10 men since the end of the first half, Ronaldo scored again in the 72nd minute from a long-range shot.
Portugal won 2-0 and cemented their position at the top of the standings with 6 points, ahead of France on goal difference. In addition, Ronaldo also managed to score 101 goals while keeping his mission past Ali Daei’s record 109 goals with the Iranian national team.
Ronaldo’s team-mate, Bruno Fernandes, cannot hide his admiration at the 35-year-old’s performance. Because Ronaldo is always there when Portugal needs him.
“He is very sharp in front of goal and can be a solution to break the deadlock whenever needed,” Fernandes said as quoted by Sportskeeda.
“We know that scoring goals will be easier with Ronaldo,” he continued.
“That’s what happened before half-time, a free-kick situation. He coached that about six or seven times yesterday and he did it again today.”
“It’s nice to have Cristiano Ronaldo. He makes any team stronger,” concluded Bruno Fernandes.
