Ronaldo is having difficulty scoring goals, Pirlo gives his defense
By db-admin
DBasia.news – Cristiano Ronaldo has been lacking on goals at Juventus. He has not scored a goal three matches in a row in Serie A.
Juventus travelled to Sampdoria headquarters at the Luigi Ferraris Stadium, Sunday (31/1/2021). The Old Lady came home with a 2-0 win through goals from Federico Chiesa and Aaron Ramsey.
Ronaldo’s name was not on the scoreboard. He was in the match to only create a key pass for Juventus’ two goals.
Even though he didn’t score a goal, Andrea Pirlo as Juventus coach still praised Ronaldo. The Portugueseplayer contributed enough to the two passes before the assist, which led to a goal.
“Ronaldo contributed again today with his passes for both goals, so the most important thing is for the team to win,” Pirlo told Sky Sport Italia.
Ronaldo last scored in the Italian League when Juventus defeated Sassuolo 3-1. He then missed scoring in matches against Inter Milan, Bologna and now Sampdoria.
Ronaldo’s infertility in scoring goals does not mean Juventus should immediately look for a new striker. Pirlo emphasized that this was not needed so far because many players could be played as spearheads.
“We have many versatile players who can take on different roles, like Chiesa, Dejan Kulusevski and even Ramsey, while Paulo Dybala will be back in action soon,” Pirlo revealed.
Ronaldo is still at the top of the temporary top scorers list in Serie A with 15 goals. Romelu Lukaku in second and Ciro Immobile in third.
The Bianconeri are temporarily in third place with 39 points. Juventus are five points behind Inter Milan and seven points from AC Milan.
