Scott Dann and Gary Cahill Absent in Defending Palace vs Bournemouth
By db-admin
DBasia.news – Two Crystal Palace defenders, Scott Dann and Gary Cahill, will miss the English League match on Wednesday (4/12) AM against Bournemouth. Palace coach, Roy Hodgson, said the two players were injured.
And who entered the Palace squad as Cahill injured his knee, suffered a blow to his ankle when they won 2-0 against Burnley last Saturday and was replaced by Mamadou Sakho.
“He was scanned today. We hope it is not a ligament problem,” Hodgson said at a press conference. “He will miss tomorrow’s match (Tuesday), as will Gary Cahill.”
“We hope both of them have recovered at the weekend (against Watford).”
Palace are also without right-back, Joel Ward, who suffered a knee injury when they lost 2-1 to Liverpool last month.
Sakho, who is trying to be fit after experiencing tense muscles, is expected to partner with James Tomkins at center back in an away match against 12th-ranked, Bournemouth.
“He has been fit to play for one period but of course we were blessed at center back by the good performances of Cahill and Tomkins,” continued Hodgson.
“Therefore he must look forward to his chance. He plays fully for U-23, playing Saturday for an important period of the second half.”
Palace, who ended their winless run in five
league matches against Burnley, settled in 11th place in the standings
after collecting 18 points from 14 matches.
