Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, Lazio Solution for Serie A Tight Schedule

By db-admin

DBasia.news – Had a long delay due to the Corona virus pandemic, Serie A 2019/20 will be held again starting June 20th. Lazio are at a disadvantage regarding the competition with Juventus in the top two. However, Sergej Milinkovic-Savic could be one solution for Juventus.

Lazio currently already collected 62 points from 26 matches. Simone Inzaghi’s squad are only one point behind Juventus, who have collected 63 points from 26 matches.

This season’s Serie A is planned to be completed on August 2nd, 2020. For that reason, a tight schedule awaits Serie A clubs. They are scheduled to play at least twice a week.

In the midst of this emergency situation, Serie A teams are allowed to make a maximum of five substitutions (of the usual three) in each match. This benefits teams that have qualified squad like La Vecchia Signora.

However, for Lazio, whose squad is not as good as Juventus, this could be a disaster.

To overcome this, as reported by Sky Sport Italia, Inzaghi also plans to give a new role to several players. One of those is to shift Milinkovic-Savic to a more offensive position.

Lazio currently only have Ciro Immobile, Felipe Caicedo, Joaquin Correa, and young player Bobby Adekanye in the strikers stock. Meanwhile, Luis Alberto can also play behind the striker.

However, the stock is inadequate for Serie A which schedule will be very tight. By shifting Milinkovic-Savic to a more offensive position, the problem is expected to be slightly resolved.

For the left midfielder, Adam Marusic and Senad Lulic could be the two candidates. For the defensive line, Patric, and Bastos could be Stefan Radu’s layer.

The rest, Inzaghi better hope that no important players get injured by the rest of the season.
