Simone Inzaghi Asks Lazio to Keep the Momentum after Winning over Juventus
By db-admin
DBasia.news – Lazio must remain ambitious after a landslide 3-1 win over Juventus in the continuation of the Serie A match, the first victory since 2003. As stated by Simone Inzaghi.
Lazio’s three goals were scored by Luiz Felipe, Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, and Felipe Caicedo, who replied to Cristiano Ronaldo’s opening goal. Juventus also played with 10 players in the second half after Juan Cuadrado received a red card.
The dream of reaching the Scudetto or staying in the Champions League zone is a realistic mission for Lazio at this time. Lazio are in third place with 33 points, behind Inter Milan (38 points), Juventus (36 points) and ahead of Roma (29 points).
The last time Lazio won the Scudetto was in 1999-00 under the direction of Sven-Goran Eriksson. Inzaghi, who is in the squad, also wants Lazio to realize that dream and has asked his team to remain ambitious.
“We are in a period of good performance, we should be ambitious, knowing that six weeks ago people said we did not achieve good results, but I remained calm,” Inzaghi told DAZN.
“The club is always close to me, even when we lose, reassuring me that there is no problem,” he continued.
Inzaghi is thrilled that Lazio have been able to break the curse of never winning from Juventus in Serie A since 2003, especially since he never defeated Maurizio Sarri. The victory was even more special as it became Aquile’s seventh successive win in Serie A.
“I also have a squad that is always available from my staff. Now we enjoy this victory, which we haven’t won in 16 years, a game that I remember because I was on the bench!” added Inzaghi.
“We enjoyed it for a few weeks, but from Thursday we have to refocus and aim for the Europa League. Fans in Curva never stop encouraging us, but we know in football, and especially in Rome, the atmosphere can change quickly,” he concluded.
