By db-admin

DBasia.news – Veteran Manchester United midfielder Juan Mata has been linked with a move to Italy. MU manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was not surprised by the speculation.

Juan Mata’s contract at the club which he has been defending since 2014 ends at the end of this season. Man United have the option of extending his contract for another season, but with so many clubs interested in Mata the opportunity to leave.

Solskjaer is not surprised to see how many European clubs are attracted to the former Valencia and Chelsea player. According to him, a good professional eye that deserves an example plus has a good personality.

“I am not surprised that there are teams that are interested in him. One, he is a very good footballer, two, he is a professional and an extraordinary human being,” Solskjaer said of Mata’s contract as quoted by Goal.

“When the contract runs towards the end there will be interest, I’m sure Juan can talk to other clubs if he wants. I stay in touch with him all the time, we have a good dialogue.”

Given the age of Mata who is no longer young there is a chance he will follow his compatriot David Silva who returns to play in Spain. Silva left Manchester City last season and joined Real Sociedad.

It was alleged that three clubs from Serie A were interested in him, namely AS Roma, Inter Milan and Juventus. Inter could be one of the strong candidates for the Mata club’s potential afterwards because there are former MU players such as Ashley Young, Alexis Sanchez and Romelu Lukaku.

This season Mata has appeared 12 times in all competitions for United and started four times in the Premier League. Since joining United in January 2014, Mata has appeared 267 times in all competitions, scoring 50 goals and providing 47 assists.

He spent his career winning trophies. Mata won a World Cup and a European Cup with the French national team. At club level Mata has won two Europa Leagues, one Champions League and the FA Cup.
