Juan Mata: Challenging for the Red Devils to Break Through the Top Four

By db-admin

DBasia.news –  Juan Mata acknowledged that Manchester United had to work hard if they wanted to enter the top four of the 2019/20 Premier League final standings. The Manchester United midfielder also said that this time was “more difficult” as many teams were getting stronger after last summer’s break.

Manchester United are 12th in the league table after only nine points from their first eight matches, losing 0-2 to Newcastle in their last match last week.

The Spanish midfielder has won the FA Cup, EFL Cup and European League since joining United in 2014.

“I think every club is getting better and clubs like Leicester are doing well in recruits and they have very good players who can take them to different levels,” Mata told Sky Sports on Wednesday (09/10).

“Not long ago (Leicester) won the English Premier League so they knew what was needed to win.”

“Football is more difficult now because every club is growing so that it is more competitive and every club is able to recruit good players. So you have to be better every season to try and achieve the targets you want.”

One of the positive things about Manchester United this season is the many opportunities given to young players and Mata believes senior players are tasked to help develop their talents.

“We have young players coming and sometimes I see myself in them. I remember when I was in Valencia at the age of 18 or 19 years old, I experienced some difficult moments because I didn’t play much at first but I had a few senior player who helped me. “

“That is what I feel is the duty of experienced players to guide young players.”
