Southampton manager criticizes the referee

By db-admin

DBasia.news –  Southampton manager Ralph Hasenhuttl complained of the referee’s decision in the match against Liverpool at Anfield.

Hasenhuttl’s men appeared convincing until they managed to draw against the Reds in the first half while also having several goalscoring opportunities. But the situation changed in the second half, the onslaught of Mo Salah et al made the Saints bow 0-4.

Responding to that defeat, Hasenhuttl thought his team deserved a penalty kick at the beginning of the second half. At that time, he considered Danny Ings violated by Fabinho. Unfortunately, the incident was not checked via VAR.

“I see no reason why Ings should fall, even though he was in front of the keeper. But Fabinho violated him twice. If the first is not a violation, then the second is clearly a violation,” Hasenhuttl said.

Even though at that time, the score was still 0-0. Shortly afterward, then Liverpool could break the deadlock through Chamberlain’s feet. Hasenhuttl considered conceding first to reduce the spirit of foster children.

“I want to see this match when winning 1-0 from a penalty that should have been obtained. That moment is actually crucial in this match,” Hasenhuttl said.

Despite losing, Hasenhuttl did not make negative comments on his squad. He felt his team was able to compete well.
