DBasia.news –  Southampton announced penalties for the players and coaches after losing to Leicester City. This makes Ralph Hasenhuttl as a coach apologize and feel fully responsible for the defeat. The impact is that either the player or the coach receives a one-day salary deduction.

In the 10th week of the Premier League 2019-2020, Southampton entertains Leicester at St Mary’s Stadium on Friday (10/25). The visitors were able to win a landslide victory in the match.

A total of nine goals were scored against Southampton in the match. Ayoze Perez and Jamie Vardy each scored three goals plus donations from Ben Chilwell, Youri Tielemans, and James Maddison.

The defeat entered into the worst record in the history of the Premier League. The club also considers the defeat tarnished the good name of Southampton.

As a result, they also gave penalties to the Southampton players. Players and coaches receive a one-day salary deduction that is donated to a charity.

“Southampton first-team players and coaches have announced they will donate their salaries from last Friday to the Saints Foundation,” the club’s official statement said.

“Southampton players have been at the Staplewood Campus all weekend. They are working hard to give what they should for supporters of the club.”

“As a first step, they decided to donate salaries on the day of the match against Leicester to the Saints Foundation. That was to help the club.”

The defeat left Southampton in the relegation zone position in the Premier League. The Saints are ranked 18th in the standings with eight points.
