DBasia.news – Sevilla won the 2019-20 Europa League. The figure of the coach Julen Lopetegui is one of the secrets of the greatness of Los Nervionenses.

Sevilla must go through steep roads to win the second caste tournament between Europe’s elite clubs. Los Nervionenses even had to face the two favorite champions, Manchester United and Inter Milan.

But all of that was able to pass Sevilla and Lopetegui smoothly. They beat Manchester United 2-1 in the semifinals.

Sevilla also appeared mighty when they met Inter in the final. Jesus Navas and his friends closed the match with a 3-2 win.

The Europa League trophy is a sweet comeback for Lopetegui. Now his name will certainly be reckoned with again.

Lopetegui’s career looks set to run out after making a controversial decision in the summer of 2018. He accepted an offer to handle Real Madrid ahead of leading Spain to the World Cup.

Lopetegui also had to pay the price. He was fired just two days before the start of the World Cup.

Spain then immediately eliminated in the round of 16. The Matador State public pointed to Lopetegui’s figure as the cause of this failure so that he became enemy number one.

Ironically, Lopetegui did not last long in Madrid. Less than half a season, Los Blancos management fired him after swallowing a series of bad results.

After being fired by Madrid, Lopetegui seemed to be having a hard time getting a new job. Even though his track record is quite classy because he has brought the Spanish U-19 and U-21 national teams to win the European Cup.

Lopetegui was out of action for nearly a year before Sevilla came on to offer. Long story short, he signed a three-year contract on June 4, 2019.

But his arrival was not welcomed by the Sevilla supporters. They still consider Lopetegui a traitor because of his controversial 2018 decision.

It is interesting to see how the response of the supporters who had rejected Lopetegui’s arrival now. What is clear, the majority of Sevilla supporters now consider him a hero.
