Appearing as the home team, Manchester City were depressed at the beginning of the match. Driven by Papu Gomez and Josip Ilicic, Atalanta managed to trouble the Manchester City back line.
Attempts from Atalanta to steal the advantage also paid off in the 28th minute through Ruslan Malinovskiy’s penalty. However, Atalanta’s superiority did not last long. As Sergio Aguero managed to score an equalizing position in the 34th minute to maximize feedback from Raheem Sterling.
Four minutes later, Aguero scored his second goal. This time, through penalty execution. The first half ended with the score 2-1 for the home team.
Disadvantaged, Atalanta tried to come out attacking in the second round. To expedite his mission, Gian Piero Gasperini also included Mario Pasalic and Luis Muriel in the 46th minute.
However, La Dea still struggled to penetrate Manchester City’s defense. The home team was able to dominate the game and managed to score his third goal through Raheem Sterling in the 58th minute.
Five minutes later, Raheem Sterling managed to score his second goal and put The Cityzens ahead 4-1. Despite being left behind by four goals, Atalanta is still trying to push back Manchester City’s back line and reduce the gap.
