The Reason of PSIS Semarang’s Defeat of Persija Jakarta

DBasia.news – PSIS Semarang failed to achieve the point after defeated by the host Persija Jakarta at Sultan Agung Stadium Bantul on Tuesday (18/9) night. In the 22nd match of Liga 1, Mahesa Jenar got defeated with a 0-1 score.

Riko Simanjuntak scored the decisive goal of Macan Kemayoran at 16′. He made the goal after passing one defender and deceiving other PSIS players.

PSIS Semarang coach Jafri Sastra revealed the reason behind the team’s loss in that match. In fact, according to the West Sumatran coach, his squad played well throughout the game.

“The goal happened due to miscommunication. Actually, I prepared the strategy to limit the space for the opponent,” he revealed.

“We covered (Marko) Simic, but we got off-guard when Riko handled the ball. There were three players there but one didn’t make a pressure and resulted in the goal,” he emphasized.

The former Mitra Kukar coach added the squad have been playing accordingly. However, the opponent were stronger.

“Overall, we play great. The team played according to the expectation, but we couldn’t score the goal. The opponent played in more mature and experienced way compared to PSIS,” Jafri concluded.
