Three years in office, Neil Warnock resigns from the position of Cardiff manager

DBasia.news –  By mutual agreement, Neil Warnock has decided to leave his position as Cardiff manager, who is currently in 14th position in the Championship standings,

“Today I left the Bluebirds that I love after more than three years together and the best days of my long football career,” said Warnock, 70, who has planned to retire at the end of the season.

“This is a joint agreement that at this time is the right time to search for a new atmosphere as we believe the players of this team are more than capable of achieving success.”

Warnock was appointed in October 2016 with Cardiff in second from bottom in the Championship division, but after consolidating their position in England’s second tier competition, he took the club to promotion to the Premier League in 2018.

Being relegated last season during a challenging season in which the signing of the club contract with Emiliano Sala who was killed in a plane crash.

The defeat to Bristol City on Sunday ended a victory in six league matches that left Cardiff seven points adrift of the playoffs.

“Cardiff City football club hqw confirmed that manager Neil Warnock had left his position by mutual agreement,” read a statement on the club’s official website.

“The council will also begin the process of replacing Neil.”
