To stay away from the Red Zone, Watford Brings in Udinese Winger

By db-admin

DBasia.news –  Watford has increasingly been serious to stay away from the English Premier League relegation zone 2019/2020. One of his efforts was shown by recruiting Udinese winger, Ignacio Pussetto.

The Argentine footballer is under a four-and-a-half-year contract to Vicarage Road, according to Watford’s official website.

Watford did not announce the amount of the transfer value to bring in Pussetto, but British media reports that the 24-year-old player was redeemed with a dowry of 8 million euros.

Pussetto spent one and a half seasons at Udinese, making 50 appearances and scoring five goals.

He became Watford’s second signing in the 2020 winter transfer window, after young Brazilian striker, Joao Pedro, or sixth overall in 2019/20 season.

Cannot wait to contribute

Pussetto admitted that he was impatient to contribute to the struggle of Watford who had just managed to leave the relegation zone.

In fact, he claimed to have observed the last few Watford matches before finally joining Nigel Pearson’s team.

“I watched the last match when the team won against Bournemouth, an important victory,” Pussetto said on the official Watford website.

“I hope that the positive result continues so that the team’s position continues to climb in the standings and I want to be able to immediately contribute to it,” he added.

In fact, Pussetto claimed to be ready to play if given the confidence to appear in the continuing match of  the English Premier League hosting Tottenham Hotspur this weekend.

“It is important for me to join the team immediately, I can’t wait to play soon,” he stated.

“If the manager thinks I can play next Saturday, I’m ready, if not I will try my best to be able to immediately enter the squad,” concluded Pussetto.

Watford is currently 17th in the standings with 22 points or only one point safe from the threat of falling back into the relegation zone.

Since being dealt with Pearson, Watford have picked up four wins in the seven games he led in order to bring the Hornets away from the base position they occupied in Christmas 2019.
