Tottenham Hotspur Lost a Player to Injuries
By db-admin
DBasia.news – Tottenham Hotspur had to lose their new player, Steven Bergwijn, due to an injury. Bergwijn is predicted to be pulled over for a while.
Steven Bergwijn’s injury came after Tottenham Hotspur faced Burnley in the continued Premier League last weekend. Throughout the match he had experienced problems with his leg.
And sure enough, after the inspection, the midfielder injured his left ankle. The club confirmed that the player brought in from PSV Eindhoven needed a long recovery time.
“After an examination by the medical team, we can confirm that Steven Bergwijn has suffered a serious sprain in his left ankle during the match against Burnley,” wrote Spurs’ official statement, Monday (09/03).
“The Dutch international player will now undergo a long rehabilitation period in which the progress of his condition will continue to be monitored,” continued the statement. It is likely that the player brought in last January will miss the Champions League top 16 second leg against RB Leipzig.
The loss of Bergwijn adds to Jose Mourinho’s injury list this season. They have lost five core players at this time.
Harry Kane, Son Heung-Min, Moussa Sissoko, and Juan Foyth were already sidelined. Especially for Harry Kane and Son Heung-Min, Tottenham Hotspur has confirmed that the two mainstay strikers will be absent until the end of the season.
