UEFA Will Investigate Ronaldo’s Red Card

Meanwhile, Juventus are ready to pursue the appeal for the red card decision.

Ronaldo got a red card in the match between Juventus against Valencia in Matchday 1 2018-2019 Champions League. Ronaldo was kicked from the match won by Juventus 2-0 at 24′.

The red card was given after the clash with the former Inter Milan defender, Jeison Murillo. Ronaldo was considered grab Murillo’s hair.

The referee discussed with his assistant because he didn’t see it in real time. After that, Cristiano Ronaldo got a red card.

The referee decision was condemned by Juventus players. The club are ready to pursue the appeal of this case to eliminate Cristiano Ronaldo’s red card.

Based on UEFA regulation No. 9, the referee decision on the pitch couldn’t be overturned. But, it could be changed if the referee did any mistake.

Juventus want to prove that the decision to give the red card to Ronaldo was wrong. Sky Sport Italia reported I Bianconeri will do the appeal within 24 hours after the match ends.

UEFA opened the possibility to cancel the red card of Cristiano Ronaldo. If succeed, the captain of Portugal national team will get the red card removal.

“UEFA will start the investigation regarding the incident in the Champions League group phase between Valencia against Juventus with a 2-0 score,” UEFA wrote in the official website.

“In the match on Sept 19 in Spain, Cristiano Ronaldo got a red card. The decision will be heard before Sept 27,” the statement continued.
