Undergoing his Inaugural training, Leroy Sane admits to being Glad in Joining Bayern Munich
By db-admin
DBasia.news – Leroy Sane underwent his first training session with Bayern Munich, Monday (7/13) after leaving Manchester City. The German player admitted he was thrilled to be joining Die Roten.
FC Bayern redeemed Sane with a dowry of 60 million euros with a five-year contract duration.
“It’s nice to be out on the field again, finishing my first session here at the training ground. I’m glad to be here,” Sane said as quoted on Goal, Tuesday (7/14).
The 24-year-old player has only played 11 minutes in the Premiere League for The Citizens this season. Man City manager, Pep Guardiola revealed that the club had failed in an attempt to convince Sane to sign a new contract.
Bayern have confirmed that Sane will use the number 10 jersey next season, as worn by Philippe Coutinho during his season-long loan from Barcelona.
Former Bayern star, Luke Podolski believes Sane will be a good addition to the Bavarians. However, he reminded that there is still so much to be improved from Sane.
“He hasn’t reached the top level yet. He still needs a little more experience, a few more seasons. He needs to play regularly with the national team and win the European Championship or the World Cup,” Podolski told Sky Germany.
Sane will not be eligible to defend Bayern Munich against Chelsea in the second leg of the Champions League top 16 round in August. He will only officially appear in the game next season.
Bayern are favorites to progress to the quarter-finals of the competition after defeating the Blues 3-0 at Stamford Bridge in the first leg, just before lockdown.
