Valencia Condemns Gasperini’s late Recognition of Covid-19

DBasia.news – A shocking statement came from Atalanta coach, Gian Piero Gasperini. The Italian claimed to have been exposed to the Covid-19 virus when accompanying his players in the match against Valencia on March 11, 2020 AM. The opposing party then accused the 62-year-old coach to have endangered the lives of many people.

Gasperini (62 years old) told La Gazzetta dello Sport about himself being affected by the corona virus before the match against Valencia in the Champions League, March. As is known Atalanta played against Valencia in the top 16 in February and March.

“I felt sick the day before the (against) Valencia match, then on the afternoon of the match I felt worse,” Gasperini explained.

“If you look at the pictures, I didn’t look good on the bench. That was on March 10. Two nights after that, I couldn’t sleep well. I didn’t have a fever, but I felt that way,” he stated.

“The day after, the team received food and 2008 Dom Perignon from the Michelin star chef who is a fan of Atalanta. I tasted it and said ‘This is water.’ The food tasted like bread. I really lost my sense of taste.”

10 days after experiencing these symptoms Gasperini was tested positive for Covid-19 after undergoing an examination. The former Inter Milan coach immediately isolated himself and distanced himself from his family.

The confession was clearly surprising as Gasperini had only been speaking openly about it lately. Moreover, Bergamo is one of the centers of the spread of the corona virus pandemic and many experts see the fight against Valencia Atalanta as the beginning of its spread in Italy.

Understandably, Valencia expressed their concerns after learning the statements from Gasperini. They were surprised as Gasperini could have put many people in danger because he has brought the corona virus.

“Valencia CF would like to publicly express our surprise at the statement made by Atalanta coach, Gian Piero Gasperini who appeared in Italian media this Sunday,” wrote a statement from Valencia’s official website.

“Stating that, the day before and the match day played on March 10 at Mestalla, the coach of our opposing team in the top 16 of the Champions League is aware of the symptoms that are theoretically compatible with the symptoms of the corona virus, without taking precautions.”

“Such an act, if this is the case, will endanger many people while traveling to – and living in – Valencia.”

“remember that this game is being held in private in the midst of strict security measures, by order of the Spanish health authorities, to prevent the risk of Covid-19 transmission, precisely because of the presence of people from areas that have been publicly classified as ‘risky’ to at that time, “concluded the statement.
