DBasia.news – The negotiation between PSSI and Luis Milla regarding the contract extension is still stuck. Both haven’t reached an agreement for the extension as the coach of U23 Indonesia national team and the senior one.
As concerned, Luis Milla signed the contract to coach the U23 national and senior team last year. The Spanish coach was in one-year contract to handle the U23 and senior team.
Furthermore, Luis Milla got the contract extension until the end of 2018 Asian Games. Luis Milla failed to achieve the big four target. Garuda Muda squat got eliminated in the round of 16 after defeated by the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in a penalty shootout 3-4 (2-2).
However, PSSI declared that they will extend Luis Milla’s contract as the coach, considering the 2018 AFF Cup is close. It’s according to the result from the PSSI executive committee’s meeting. However, the former Real Madrid and Barcelona player hasn’t answered yet.
“PSSI gave both the informal and formal offering through Luis’ agency. We will wait until September 14-15 for further negotiation. We set the target because the deadline is September 20,” said PSSI secretary general Ratu Tisha Destria to reporters.
“Next, it’s important for us to have a formal certainty. For intention, both parties have it, but the implementation and process require plenty of time, also the detail of working contract,” she added.
So far, PSSI keeps on communicating with Luis Milla’s agent through email.
“He only wanted the email channel. Whenever deal, he will come to Indonesia. PSSI has the authority to call him back because he left one day after the match in Asian Games, with no evaluation of the performance. The evaluation shouldn’t just in paper, but we have to meet formally,” Ratu Tisha explained.
“They have to control over until September 20 according to the internal deadline, to decide yes or no. On October 10 we have to play against Myanmar,” she concluded.
