Why Awan Setho Becomes the Main Goalkeeper of Indonesia National Team

DBasia.news – Indonesia national team goalkeeper coach Kurnia Sandy mentioned the playing minute as the reason why Awan Setho Raharjo was chosen as the main goalkeeper in the match against Mauritius. Playing at Wibawa Mukti Stadium, Cikarang, Bekasi on Tuesday (11/9), the 21-year-old goalkeeper scored the clean sheet.

The Indonesia national team won 1-0 by the only goal from Evan Dimas Darmono at 89′ after the stagnation.

In this friendly match, the coach duet Bima Sakti Tukiman and Danurwindo set aside Andritany Ardhiyasa and gave the opportunity for Awan and Muhammad RIdho Djazulie to compete fairly as the main goalkeeper. Apparently, the Bhayangkara FC goalkeeper was successfully securing the main position.

“From the playing minute, he (Awan) is better and decisive, and Ridho is also ready,” Kurnia Sandy said.

Considering the performance in Liga 1, Awan joined 14 matches. While Ridho played 9 matches with Borneo FC.

“That’s the same factor. But one played more. For technical and skill consideration, they are similar,” Kurnia Sandy said.

Since the injury on May, Ridho almost lost the starter position with Borneo FC. Nadeo Argawinata who replaced his role could perform excellently.
