Why Isco Didn’t Play in Madrid Vs AS Roma Match

DBasia.news –  Real Madrid have played against AS Roma at Stadio Olimpico on the fifth match of Group G 2018-2019 Champions League, Wednesday (28/11). In that match, Madrid coach Santiago Solari left Isco out in his squad.

Real Madrid countered AS Roma’s attack 2-0 by the goals from Gareth Bale (47′) and Lucas Vazquez (59′). The result ensures Los Blancos’ way to the qualification phase.

But, one of the highlights is Isco’s absence in the squad. The Spanish player didn’t play as the starter under Solari era.

“Dropping Isco was a specific decision for a specific moment. Coaches are in place to make decisions and that’s it, I am here to make decisions,” Solari said cited by Goal.

“Sometimes we make the right ones, sometimes we don’t but it’s easy to say that after the game,” he continued.

“Decisions are almost always sporting, except in exceptional cases, although there are none of those here.”

Isco’s absence in the squad raised a question. Apparently, the 26-year-old player also left to Roma. But so far, Isco just played for 78 minutes since Solari leads them.

“Starters and substitutes are fictitious problems that don’t exist. The players are here to give everything and be at 100 percent so they can be picked,” Solari said.

“The players showed they can take responsibility and we’re really happy to get the win,” he concluded.
