Zinedine Zidane Judges Himself Better Right Now
By db-admin
DBasia.news – Compared to winning three consecutive Champions League titles, Zinedine Zidane thinks he is currently better as a Real Madrid coach.
Zidane has coached Real Madrid for a year in the second period since 2019. In his first period (2016-2018), Santiago Bernabeu’s 47-year-old living legend won a lot of success as a coach with three Champions League titles, one La Liga, Spanish Super Cup, two European Super Cup, and the Club World Cup.
But in that first period Zidane’s coaching career was still ‘green’ and previously coached Real Madrid Castilla. Interestingly, Zidane assessed that he was now far more developed than that time.
“Yes, I think I am better (than before). I feel that I have improved. In life too, as a person,” Zinedine Zidane was quoted as saying by Goal.
“You learn from situations, from people around you. I make sure to listen to the people next to me and my goal is to move forward.”
Zidane also spoke about the Spanish Super Cup final which brought Real Madrid to Atletico Madrid on Monday (01/13) at 1:00 a.m. Western Indonesian Time
“They (Atletico) are a team that always shows how strong they are,” added Zidane.
“They defend well, but they also attack very well. Both Atletico and Barcelona are a very strong team, so we must always play with courage.”
“There is no secret formula. I really believe in this squad, we have the best players. They just have to show it – that’s the key.”
“There are always difficult times for the team, especially after many wins, and that is what happened to these players; but to return to (the position to win the trophy) is all about hard work and patience.”
“We want to give fans something new to shout (the trophy) and we try hard to do that,” concluded Zidane.
