By db-admin
DBasia.news – After four years, Gnabry returned to London and made a spectacular display when defending Bayern Munich against host Tottenham Hotspur. As if to prove himself, Gnabry went berserk and made four of Bayern’s seven goals against Tottenham.
At the moment Gnarbry has returned to London and has shown an amazing performance. This spectacular performance he showed when defending Bayern Munich against Tottenham Hotspur, who hosted the match. Gnabry managed to break Tottenham’s goal four times from seven goals scored by Bayern. As if he wanted to prove himself with his appearance at the time.
Could be, the action of breaking into the Spurs goal four times would not have happened if Gnabry had never felt a dark period. Gnabry was predicted as a potential star owned by Arsenal.
Arsene Wenger, Arsenal manager at the time called the young Gnabry has the quality of playing in the Premier League. This was also conveyed by Wenger to West Bromwich manager Tony Pulis when lending Gnabry. But Pulis disagreed with Wenger.
At West Bromwich, Gnabry was only played in the Premier League by Pulis, against Chelsea. After that Gnabry no longer had the chance, even for the Under-21 team. Gnabry was even returned by Pulis to Arsenal in the middle of the season. Since then Gnabry no longer enjoyed his adventures in England and chose to return to his country of Germany until now.
While at West Bromwich, Gnabry was judged by Pulis for not having the physical needs of players in the Premier League. That’s why Pulis prefers other players than Gnabry.
Here are five players who became Gnabry’s rivals at West Bromwich.
1. James Morrison
James Morrison is one of the longest-standing players to defend West Bromwich. Morrison was Pulis’ top choice in the wing position.
In 2017-18, Morrison had to miss nearly a full season because of an injury. Last season he only appeared 19 times with West Bromwich who appeared at Championship level. At present Morrison, 33, does not have a club after being released by West Bromwich at the end of last season.
2. Chris Brunt
In recent years the player from Northern Ireland is more often played as a right back. But in 2015-16, Brunt became Pulis’s second choice when James Morrison was injured.
At the age of 34, Chris Brunt is still strengthening West Bromwich Albion.
3. James McClean
James McClean is Serge Gnabry’s closest rival given his age is not much different. McClean brought West Bromwich from Wigan Athletic and immediately gained more trust than Gnabry who is a loan player.
When West Bromwich was relegated in 2018, McClean moved to another Championships club, Stoke City. This season McClean has never performed.
4. Callum McManaman
Callum McManaman is the player who was replaced by Serge Gnabry against Chelsea in 2015-16. That match is the only appearance of Gnabry with West Bromwich in the Premier League.
After briefly joining Sunderland and Wigan, McManaman was brought in by Luton Town on a free summer exchange yesterday.
5. Stephane Sessegnon
At the end of the 2014-15 season, Stephane Sessegnon was rumored to be leaving West Bromwich. But in the end, he stayed.
One season later the attacking midfielder from Benin moved to France. After stopping at Montpellier, Sessegnon is now grazing in Turkey with Genclerbirligi.
