DBasia.news –  Barcelona midfielder, Frenkie de Jong, revealed that his former teammate at Ajax, Abdelhak Nouri, agreed to his move to Barcelona. Nouri himself has now awoke from his coma.

Abdelhak Nouri went into a coma for almost three years due to a arrhythmia heart attack in 2017 which resulted in brain damage.

On the Dutch TV show, De Wereld Draait Door, Nouri’s family revealed that he had woken up from his coma.

Frenkie de Jong revealed that it was Nouri who convinced him to head to Ajax while he was still playing with Willem II. Even though de Jong has decided to head to PSV Eindhoven.

“In that period I decided to leave Willem II. And at that time in Greece at the Euro U-19 tournament, Appie (Nouri’s nickname) convinced me to join Ajax. ” said de Jong to De Wereld Draait Door.

De Jong then revealed how Appie communicated and agreed to his move to Barcelona.

“At that time Appie’s mother came and asked him. “Where should Frenkie go? Does he have to go to Barcelona? ” Then Appie moved his eyebrows in agreement. It was a great moment for me and his family. ” he concluded.

Frenkie de Jong finally joined Barcelona last summer for 75 million euros.
