AC Milan could have won the Scudetto last season, but was hampered by injuries
By db-admin
DBasia.news – AC Milan coach, Stefano Pioli, emphasized that his team had a great chance of winning Serie A last season. Unfortunately, the Rossoneri were hampered by injuries.
AC Milan had gone far in the middle of the Serie A season last season. Milan also holds the status of the half-season champion.
However, towards the end of the race, Milan actually ran out of steam. In fact, Milan was unsure in entering the big four. In the end Milan finished second in the standings with 79 points. Inter Milan also emerged as champions with the acquisition of 91 points.
Pioli believes, his team failed to win the Scudetto due to injury. Pioli is also aware of Milan’s ups and downs.
“In the last two games, we did things that were less in terms of quality. If you reduce quality, you will not win the game,” said Pioli in AC Milan’s official website.
“If we didn’t have all the injuries last year, I think we would have won the Scudetto. In a growth path, it’s normal to be inconsistent.”
Meanwhile, Pioli refuses to comment on the Milan player who is currently playing for Inter, Hakan Calhanoglu. Pioli chose to focus on his current squad.
“Hakan Calhanoglu? I don’t understand why people keep talking about players we don’t have them. I’m happy with my players,” stated Pioli.
Next, Milan will host Napoli in the continued match of Serie A 2021-2022, at the San Siro, Monday (20/12) morning WIB. Victory is very important for Milan to adhere to Inter who are at the top.
