AC Milan Crisis Defender after Players Infected with Corona Virus
By db-admin
DBasia.news – AC Milan is certain to lose its defender after Leo Duarte was diagnosed with the corona virus. This was announced by the Rossoneri club.
“AC Milan announced Leo Duarte tested positive after the swab tests carried out by the players yesterday. Meanwhile, the other members of the group all tested negative,” explained AC Milan as quoted by Football Italia, Thursday (24/9).
As a result, the Brazilian footballer will immediately undergo quarantine for the next 14 days. This step is to prevent transmission to teammates and club staff.
With Duarte declared positive for the corona virus, Milan’s stock of center-backs is running low. Only Simon Kjaer and Matteo Gabbia remained. Given that Alessio Romagnoli, Mateo Musacchio, is also still injured
Later, Stefano Pioli’s troops will again undergo a swab test ahead of the 2020-2021 Europa League qualifying match against Bodo-Glimt. Health protocol will be even tighter in order to avoid exposure to Covid-19.
So far the Rossoneri have been unbeaten impressively, both in pre-season friendlies and in official competitions. Milan picked up a 2-0 win over Shamrock Rovers in the Europa League qualifiers. While in the first week of Serie A, Milan also shaved Bologna 2-0 through two goals from Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
