AC Milan deserves the label of being the Scudetto challenger this season

DBasia.news – Former AC Milan defender, Alessandro Nesta, believes the Rossoneri deserves the label of being Scudetto challengers this season. According to Nesta, Milan is on the right path to return to their peak of achievement.
Milan unexpectedly played quite well last season. The Rossoneri were in second place, behind champions Inter Milan. The two teams were 12 points adrift.
Milan immediately improved themselves this summer. A number of new ammunition came in to replace several players who left, such as Gianluigi Donnarumma and Hakan Calhanoglu.
Fikayo Tomori, Sandro Tonali and Brahim Diaz are the three loan players that Milan have kept this season. Meanwhile, Mike Maignan and Tiemoue Bakayoko became the two new ammunition. Olivier Giroud is expected to be the new mainstay in the banging line.
So far, what Milan has achieved is still in the plans. The Rossoneri silenced Sampdoria and Cagliari. Therefore, Milan has collected six points in the Serie A standings.
Improvements in various lines made by Milan has made Nesta sure. The former Italian national team defender is confident that Milan will win the Scudetto.
“Milan are challengers to the Scudetto. Maybe they didn’t start as favourites. However, that doesn’t necessarily mean it’s bad. Maybe it’s the other way around,” said Nesta to the Corriere della Seria.
“In fact, there are many teams that can win this year. One thing is for sure, Milan is on the right track,” he added.
Alessandro Nesta defended Milan for 10 years before finally moving to Lazio in August 2002. During that period, Nesta made 326 appearances. The 45-year-old also brought the Rossoneri to Serie A, Champions League and Coppa Italia champions.
