AC Milan Extends Stefano Pioli’s Contract
By db-admin
DBasia.news – AC Milan officially extended the duration of Stefano Pioli’s contract as Rossoneri manager. The Serie A club would rather extend the 54-year-old manager’s contract than replacing him with Ralf Rangnick.
AC Milan gave a new contract to Stefano Pioli. The coach will be Milan’s manager until June 2022.
The new contract at the same time dismissed the arrival issue of Ralf Rangnick as a coach. Milan believe more in the results that Pioli has given at the moment.
Pioli’s contract extension was welcomed by Milan CEO Ivan Gazidis. The former Arsenal official was convinced, Pioli is the right person behind the wheel of Milan.
“I am pleased with this agreement. Stefano Pioli has showed he can provide the vision of football he has for Milan. Milan plays exciting, progressive, and full of enthusiasm,” said Ivan Gazidis.
Stefano Pioli has indeed made AC Milan’s performance improved. After the pandemic break, AC Milan won seven wins plus two draws from nine matches in Serie A.
“This is not a decision based on recent victories. However, it is based on how Stefano Pioli builds team spirit and unity of purpose. He improves players’ performance individually and collectively.”
Meanwhile, Stefano Pioli is also excited with the new contract. The former Inter Milan coach believes The Rossoneri will continue to grow.
“I am happy and proud of the trust I receive from AC Milan. I want to thank everyone, including the fans, who are not in the stadium, but are always close and supportive,” Pioli said.
“We have to be focused, determined and united. We are at an extraordinary start. So we will continue to work. We will grow and be more competitive.”
At the moment, Milan’s hope of competing in European competition are still maintained. Zlatan Ibrahimovic and friends are occupying the fifth position on the standings.
