By db-admin
DBasia.news – Spanish league giant club, Barcelona, finally decided to take legal action against their former vice president, Emili Rousaud.
Unable to accept the allegations, Barcelona said that Rousaud’s statement was very offensive and unfounded. Legal actions will also be taken by Barcelona management against Rousaud.
“In the face of baseless accusations by Emili Rousaud, a former Vice President of the club, in a number of media interviews, the Board of Directors firmly denies any action that could be described as corruption,” wrote an official Barcelona statement on Tuesday (4/14/2020).
“We agree to take this as a criminal act. Barcelona cannot tolerate accusations that seriously damage the club’s image. The legal action taken is to defend the honor of the club and its employees,”
Barca will even hold a well-known audit company to prove that what Rousaud said was wrong. “In terms of this (corruption) allegation, the club has been working with PriceWaterhouseCoopers (PWC), the company that conducts audits on social network monitoring services.”
Barca will soon announce the results of the examination to the public. For the time being, an examination from the external audit team is recognized by the club as still ongoing.
“We will publish it, make decisions and take action based on the results of their audit,”
Previously, the internal conflict in Barcelona heats up. The latest, six club officials nicknamed the Blaugrana officially resigned.
Two directors Maria Teixidor and Jordi Calsamiglia officially relinquished their posts. Earlier the president of Barcelona, Josep Maria Bartomeu asked four directors, Emili Rousaud, Enrique Tombas, Silvio Elias, and Josep Pont to resign.
