After mocking Manchester United, Klopp gets his karma
By db-admin
DBasia.news – Liverpool manager, Jurgen Klopp, had mocked Manchester United’s decision to spend a lot of money to purchase Paul Pogba, who was injured. However, at this time the situation turned to attack Klopp.
Previously, Jurgen Klopp spoke about the risks it takes when a club spends a lot of money on signing one player instead of building a team. The remarks were believed to lead to Manchester United purchasing Pogba for a dowry of 89 million pounds.
According to Klopp, things will fall apart when the expensive player is injured. Klopp wants to try to be wise in spending money.
“If you bring in one player for 100 million pounds and he is injured. Everything will be wasted,” explained Jurgen Klopp as reported by the Mirror.
“This is football. It’s about the game together. That’s how everyone in football understands it,” continued the manager.
“You always want to get the best. However, building a team is more important to success.”
“Other clubs can spend more money and collect star players. I want to do it in a different way. In fact, I would do it differently if I got the money.”
However, now Klopp is consumed by his own words. The player who made Liverpool pour out 75 million pounds in 2018, Virgil van Dijk, has suffered from a ligament injury and is expected to be out for the long term.
Virgil van Dijk’s injury is seen as a stumbling block in Liverpool’s quest to retain the Premier League title. To overcome Van Dijk’s absence, Klopp has put Fabinho as a defender.
