Andrew Robertson’s joy and sorrow in the match against Tottenham

By db-admin

DBasia.news – Liverpool defender, Andrew Robertson did a lot in the away game against Tottenham Hotspur. Roberton scored assists, goals, and received a red card.

In the match which ended with a score of 2-2, Andrew Robertson became a hero and Liverpool’s victim

Initially, he provided an assist for Diogo Jota’s first Liverpool goal. Then, Robertson scored in the 69th minute.

Eight minutes later, referee Paul Tierney gave a straight red card to Robertson after violating Emerson. Previously, the referee changed the decision from a yellow card to a red after seeing VAR.

Opta Joe noted, Robertson was the first player to score, assist and receive a red card in a single Premier League game since Aleksandar Mitrovic in May 2016.

Robertson’s red card has made Jurgen Klopp furious. Moreover, according to the coach, there have been two previous incidents where VAR was not present to the detriment of Liverpool.

“It wasn’t the hardest, but it wasn’t the smartest either. He knows that because he is a great kid. However, he lost his focus a little bit,” Klopp said as reported by the BBC.

“Red cards can be given. However, is there any evidence that VAR was there today. Because we thought they were not in his office after the two previous incidents.”

Andrew Robertson also gave a statement on the red card he received. Through his Twitter account, the defender admitted that he made a mistake.

“I was raised to take responsibility when I did something wrong. I have to admit my offense was bad and I was wrong in judging,” he wrote.

“Perhaps I should not talk about anything else in the game other than how proud I am to be with the other players. Apart from me, the players are showing a different class in dealing with challenging positions.”
