Ajax Protect Their Two Young Players from Barcelona
By news-admin
DBasia.news – Ajax Amsterdam sporting director, Marc Overmars, warned Barcelona to bury the dream to get Matthijs de Ligt and Frenkie de Jong. Overmars said that Ajax isn’t interested to let go the two key players, although the offerings are big.
It’s not a secret that Ajax is the team with many young and talented players. No wonder, some Europe clubs aiming Ajax as the supermarket to get some wonderkids.
Including Barcelona, who are interested to get Matthijs de Ligt and Frenkie de Jong. Both of the players performed brightly during the Eredivisie last season.
“De Jong to Barcelona? He is not for sale. And I have communicated this to all parties involved,” said Overmars to Telegraaf.
“It’s the same for Matthijs. Clubs that are interested are free to come back next year.”
“But we have now reached a point where we simply say that we are not selling these players. They are still only 19, 20 years old,” he added.
“Frenkie de Jong, Donny van de Beek and Matthijs de Ligt are not for sale as far as we are concerned. Not even for an insane amount. They should play about 40 games for Ajax first in 2018-19.”
Barcelona previously got Clement Lenglet and Arthur to strengthen the team in 2018-2019 season. But, Blaugrana was also losing Paulinho who returned to the Chinese Super League.
