DBasia.news – Liverpool defender Trent Alexander-Arnold hit back for Jose Mourinho after Tottenham Hotspur’s defeat at Anfield. In fact, Alexander-Arnold scoffed at The Special One’s statement.

Liverpool won an important victory after beating Tottenham Hotspur 2-1 in the 2020-2021 Premier League continued match, at Anfield Stadium, Thursday (17/12). Roberto Firmino’s goal at the end of the match brought the Reds to three points.

With that victory, Liverpool pushed to the top of the standings. Jordan Henderson and friends are three points ahead of Tottenham who are in second place.

After the match, Jose Mourinho seemed not to accept the results of the match. According to him, Tottenham appeared better. However, the results were in favor of Liverpool.

“I told him the best team to lose. He didn’t agree, but that’s his opinion,” said Jose Mourinho, who claimed to have spoken with Jurgen Klopp after the match.

“We deserved to win so I have to be disappointed. Of course they have more balls but when we have it, we know how to hurt them. However, we have to score the second and third goals to win the match,” continued the former Real Madrid architect.

“A draw will probably be the fairest. However, defeat is very unfair. In the end, it was fate that decided they won.”

The statement refusing to admit defeat received scorn from Trent Alexander-Arnold. “The best team wins,” wrote Alexander-Arnold on Instagram.

This statement received a reply from another Liverpool player, Rhys Williams. “It’s louder for those in the back, bro,” Williams said in the comments.
