By db-admin

DBasia.news –  Belarusian legend, Alexander Hleb, revealed the main factor that made him fail to shine with the Spanish giants, Barcelona. Hleb considered the failure originated from himself and was not the fault of the trainer or staff.

Barcelona brought in Hleb from Arsenal with a tag of 17 million Euros in 2008. Hleb is also expected to be able to become a mainstay of Azulgrana as well as competitors to Andres Iniesta and Xavi Hernandez.

However, Hleb failed to meet Camp Nou’s public expectations, he only managed to collect 19 appearances in the Spanish League in the 2008/09 season. Barcelona finally released Hleb to the German club, VfB Stuttgart in 2009.

“The failure in Barcelona was my own fault. Not Pep Guardiola. He has tried his best to help me, “Alexander Hleb said as quoted on the Marca website.

“Guardiola helped me to be comfortable living there and fluent in Spanish. But instead, I behaved like a fool, “he added.

Despite failing to shine, Hleb was regreted his move to Barcelona. The 38-year-old player felt grateful for the opportunity to train with Xavi.

“Practicing there is an amazing experience. Great players like Xavi don’t make any mistakes in every training session. While I often made mistakes. I always have fun experiences from all the clubs that I defend, “he concluded.
