DBasia.news – The former Indonesia national team coach, Alfred Riedl, isn’t mentioning Indonesia as the winning candidate of 2018 AFF Cup. He mentioned two teams, one of them is Vietnam.
The Austrian coach mentioned Vietnam considering the achievement in U23 2018 Asian Cup and 2018 Asian Games. In U23 Asian Cup, Vietnam scored the history becoming the runner-up.
While in 2018 Asian Games, Vietnam passed until the semifinal round before defeated due to the loss for the third position.
“The U23 Vietnam played well during the U23 Asian Cup and 2018 Asian Games recently. They are the only South East Asian team passed the semifinal,” Alfred Riedl said.
Vietnam would be the challenging opponent with the similar squad. Alfred Riedl also emphasized his statement.
“I’m sure many U23 players will be chosen by coach Park Hang Seo to strengthen the team in 2018 AFF Cup. They will be the main opponent for Thailand in the 2018 AFF Cup,” he added.
Alfred Riedl is consistent mentioning Thailand. The previous winner will be the favorite candidate to win it again.
“Obviously, Thailand become the first candidate. But like what I said, Vietnam are the hardest rival in the tournament,” Alfred Riedl said quoted by Dantri.
