Alisson Becker Awarded the 2019 Yachine Trophy

DBasia.news –  The Yachine Trophy is an award for the goalkeeper category at the Ballon d’Or 2019. Liverpool goalkeeper, Alisson Becker has been named as the winner of the 2019 Yachine Trophy.

The coronation was announced at the 2019 Ballon’Or event which took place at the Theater du Chatelet, Paris, Tuesday, AM (12/3/2019).

Alisson Becker defeated a number of other goalkeeper names that were no less great. His closest rivals are Marc-André ter Stegen and also Ederson Moraes.

Previously, there were 10 goalkeepers who were nominated in the Yachine Trophy 2019. They were Samir Handanović, Kepa Arrizabalaga, Manuel Neuer, Andre Onana, Wojciech Szczesny, Ederson Moraes, Hugo Lloris, Jan Oblak, Marc-André ter Stegen and also Alisson Becker.

Alisson is the first winner of the Yachine Trophy which was only held in 2019. The 27-year-old goalkeeper was chosen after bringing Liverpool the Champions League champions in the 2018/19 season, as well as bringing Brazil the 2019 Copa America champions.

In addition, Alisson’s record last season with Liverpool was also brilliant. He recorded 21 cleansheets for one season and brought the Reds in second place in the Premier League standings in 2018/19.

Yachine Trophy itself is an award taken from the name of the legendary former Russian goalkeeper (Lev) Soviet Yashin.
