Antoine Griezmann Can’t Wait to Play for Barcelona

DBasia.news –  The French striker, Antoine Griezmann, finally officially joined Barcelona from Atletico Madrid. Blaugrana redeemed the purchase clause of 120 million euros. Griezmann can’t wait to immediately strengthen Barcelona.

Despite accusations from Atletico, which claimed less Barcelona fees (supposedly 200 million euros), Barcelona continued to insist on reaching an agreement with Griezmann before the price dropped according to the clause as of July 1, 2019.

Griezmann’s attorney, Sevan Karian, had deposited a 120 million euro clause on his purchases to LaLiga directly. The 28-year-old striker signed a five-year contract and added front-line strength that already has Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez, and Ousmane Dembele.

After going through a long drama, Griezmann’s transfer was realized. The former Real Sociedad player finally spoke up and was impatient to undergo a new challenge with Ernesto Valverde’s side.

“As a small child, my father showed me that the same train is not only passing,” said Griezmann, quoted from Sport-English.

“It’s time for me to accept a new challenge at a new club. In the end, the way we meet. I will maintain the Barca jersey with pride and determination. This is our moment, this is our journey,” he said.

Griezmann became the second player Barca recruited this summer for the first team after Neto came from Valencia. While for Barcelona B, the team has recruited four players, namely: Ludovit Reis, Mike van Beijnen, Louie Barry, and Hiroki Abe.
