DBasia.news – Arsenal’s position rose to number nine in the Premier League standings when they won the match against West Ham United at London Stadium on Tuesday (10/12) early morning Western Indonesian Time. This 3-1 victory over West Ham officially ended the period of defeat suffered by Arsenal.
West Ham had a 1-0 lead over Angelo Ogbonna’s goal in minute 38. But Arsenal rose in the second half, scoring three goals at once via goals from Gabriel Martinelli (60′), Nicolas Pepe (66′), and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (69′) – three goals in nine minutes.
“Arsenal turned things around from losing in the first half and won the Premier League away match for the first time since October 2011,” said @OptaJoe.
Interestingly, the three kicks became three on target by Arsenal in a total of 10 trials. However, Arsenal dominated possession to reach 65 percent.
The victory was highly anticipated by fans because Arsenal had never won in nine consecutive matches in all competitions. In fact, management has acted by firing Unai Emery and replacing it with Freddie Ljungberg.
Nicolas Pepe, a club transfer record of 72 million pounds, performed well in the match and Ljungberg was satisfied with his performance.
“I think what he did (Pepe against West Ham), he really worked hard when he played offensively and defensively and showed his quality,” Ljungberg praised Pepe on Arsenal’s official website.
While Manuel Pellegrini, manager of West Ham, is surprised by the defense of his team which is easily uprooted by opponents.
“In our last five games at home, we have drawn and conceded three goals in our last three matches. I am more worried about it (rather than rumors of dismissal),” said Pellegrini.
“For 65 minutes there was only one team in the match. But we had to score the second goal to kill the match. If Arsenal scored three goals from seven chances, then that would be different. The match was determined in three minutes. We had to concentrate more.”
