AS Roma and AC Milan Penalizes Italian Media

DBasia.news –  Italian media, Corriere dello Sport, has provoked controversy with their racist headlines. Two Italian clubs, AS Roma and AC Milan, has penalized Corriere dello Sport.

Previously, Corriere created controversy by putting up a headline titled Black Friday to welcome Rome’s duel against Inter Milan. On the front page of the media was also a picture of Romelu Lukaku and Chris Smalling.

Inevitably, Corriere immediately received criticism from various parties. As the headline was considered racist.

In the end, Corriere received penalties from Roma and AC Milan. The media has been exiled until next year.

“Responding to Black Friday, the headline published by the newspaper today, Rome and Milan have decided to penalize Corriere dello Sport until the end of this year. The media are unable to go to the training ground and our players will not be active in the newspaper during the sentence,” Roma said on the official page.

“We believe that players, clubs, supporters and the media must fight racial battles in football. We all need to be wiser in choosing the words to be conveyed.”

Meanwhile, Lukaku and Smalling made strong criticisms of Corriere. Lukaku was upset as the media chose words that reflected the color of his and Smalling’s skin.

“When everything focused on the two teams, Corriere came up with the worst headlines I have ever seen in my career,” Lukaku said.

Inter Milan’s match against Roma did get a lot of attention as both teams were in a neat trend. In addition, the victory will make the Nerazzurri survive at the top of the standings.
