DBasia.news – Corona virus is still a pandemic in various parts of the world. The role of medical personnel is certainly so great in tackling the Covid-19 pandemic originated from Wuhan, China.
Medical personnel are now at the forefront of fighting the ferocious corona virus. They continue to work even though they risk losing their lives due to being infected with the virus.
Italy is also the country with the most severe corona virus spread in Europe. As of today, there are 92 thousand positive cases with 10 thousand fatalities.
“AS Roma today announced that we will hold the first home match in front of the fans after football has returned to normal with medical workers who have been at the forefront against COVID-19,” said an official statement from AS Roma club’s official website.
“With the theme ‘HEROES’ as in the club’s social media, we will pay homage to doctors, nurses and medical personnel in Italy and around the world by giving 5,000 free tickets for their efforts in dealing with this crisis.”
Roma will also reduce ticket prices for medical workers at the start of next season. A portion of the ticket sales profits will also be donated to the club’s fundraising campaign.
Rome president James Palotta called the actions taken by his club not a mere sensation. They truly regard medical personnel as heroes who deserve to be rewarded.
“It is impossible to overstate how much we appreciate the work of medical staff in Italy and throughout the world. This is an opportunity for our clubs and fans to show our appreciation to medical workers,” Palotta said.
