Barcelona Draws against Espanyol, Red Cards Become an Excuse for Ernesto Valverde

DBasia.news – Barcelona failed to win against Espanyol in the LaLiga match. According to Ernesto Valverde, Barcelona coach, Frenkie de Jong’s red card influenced the final result.
Barcelona failed to win when going up agianst Espanyol in the Catalunya Derby match. The match ended with a score of 2-2.
David Lopez put Espanyol ahead in the first half. However, Luis Suarez and Arturo Vidal loaded Barcelona to turn things around.
Unfortunately Frenkie de Jong received a second yellow card. As a result, Espanyol broke into Barcelona’s goal thanks to goals from substitute, Wu Lei.
Ernesto Valverde also regretted Barcelona’s failure to win. The Spanish coach considers Frenkie de Jong’s red card as the culprit.
“Frenkie de Jong’s red card had a negative effect for Barcelona. We had three chances of ensuring victory, but didn’t,” Ernesto Valverde said.
“In the end, we just drew. Barcelona controlled the match more and came back from behind 0-1. We intend to score a lot of goals.”
“They played attackingly and Barcelona had a lot of room. The game benefited us, but they have the chance and use it,” added Ernesto Valverde.
These results have made Barcelona collect the same points with Real Madrid in second place. In addition, Atletico Madrid and Sevilla followed both of them by five points.
