Barcelona is at the Crisis Point due to Lack of Player Recruitment in January 2020
By db-admin
DBasia.news – The lack of Barcelona transfers in the winter transfer market raises concerns from Josep Maria Bartomeu, President of Barcelona. Reportedly, Bartomeu held a meeting with Eric Abidal, Barca’s Sports Director.
Quoted from the US, Sunday (2/2/2020) Bartomeu considers that the Barca situation is at the point of crisis. Bartomeu not only met with Abidal, but he also held serious talks with Ramon Planes, Abdal’s representative.
Bartomeu is rumored to want to ask both of them regarding the inability of Barcelona to recruit forwards as a replacement for Luis Suarez who was injured. However, several media in Spain actually called Bartomeu who blocked Abidal and Planes to bring in a substitute for Suarez.
Quoted from Mundo Deportivo, Abidal and Planes actually want to bring in a brand-new player with a typical striker. However, Bartomeu several times did not approve of several names offered. Rumors have even circulated that Bartomeu does not have full trust in both of them.
Until the closing of the transfer market some time ago, Barca was only able to recruit two young players who would not contribute to the first team. They are Matheus Fernandes from Palmeiras and Francisco Trincão from Braga.
The last name plays as a striker, but the chance for Trincao to play in the first team is quite small. His mentality and abilities are deemed unfit to appear in competitions as tight as the Spanish La Liga.
