DBasia.news – Unfortunate news has hit the Barcelona striker, Antoine Griezmann, who was confirmed to have injured his right leg muscle and has the potential to be absent until the end of the season. The Injury was suffered in the match against Real Valladolid won by Barcelona 1-0, Saturday, July 12, 2020.

The French national team player is likely to miss the last two matches of the season after suffering a muscle injury.

The 29-year-old attacker started when Quique Setien’s team defeated Real Valladolid 1-0 on Sunday (12/7) WIB. But Griezmanan had to be replaced by Luis Suarez.

Setien confirmed after the match that Griezmann asked to be replaced as he felt pain after the first half.

The former Atletico Madrid player had to undergo a scan on his right foot after the match which showed injury and the Blaugrana was unsure on how long Griezmann would be out.

“The test shows that Antoine Griezmann has a muscle injury in the quadriceps of his right leg,” said a statement on the club’s official website.

“Therefore he is not in the squad at the moment and the development of his injury will affect his availability.”

Griezmann will at least not play in a midweek match against Osasuna, but is likely to miss the final match against Deportivo Alaves on July 19.

Griezmann has scored nine goals this season in 35 appearances in LaLiga. Griezmann’s injury will make Luis Suarez return to the starting XI for the last two matches after being rested from five matches in a row.

Barcelona currently ranks second in La Liga and are sticking tight to Real Madrid with one point.
